Why all the fuss?

If you take part in any aspect of international trade, you know that a long runway is required. Relationships with foreign buyers don’t happen overnight, and the paperwork to get your product into another country takes time. But before you can get to any of that, you must determine which countries are a good fit and a strategy to get there.

SUSTA’s programs also require you to spend time planning in advance. This is why we open each new program year months in advance. Below is a timeline to guide you through our 2026 programs. Also consider joining our 2026 SUSTA Programs Kickoff webinar on July 30, 2025.

January 1 – December 31, 2026 is the “2026 Program Year”

  • August 1, 2025: You can recertify your MySUSTA account for 2026 programs; let us know which of our programs you are interested in next year: Export Education, Global Events, and/or CostShare.
  • Global Events: On August 15, 2025, at 8am CST many of our 2026 Global Events start opening for registration. All events are first-come, first-served; trade show booth selection is done in order of registration.
  • CostShare: The 2026 CostShare application is available after August 1, 2025; If you apply before January 1, 2026, your application fee is $300; if you apply on January 1, 2026 or after it is $350. You must apply and be contracted prior to conducting your international promotions.

We encourage you to start making your 2026 plans early. Not sure which countries to explore? The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service’s overseas offices publish annual GAIN Reports that are a great resource. Many new reports were published in the last month. SUSTA also has a library of educational webinars that we have hosted over the years. Check out our Past Webinars page to watch the recordings and learn about key markets. You can also register to meet with SUSTA’s consultants based around the world. They are available for consultations on Zoom or Teams.
