The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks a dynamic, results-oriented agricultural marketing executive to promote and enhance the profitability of Virginia agriculture and agribusiness in both domestic and international markets. This is a key position that has direct responsibility for promoting agriculture, the number one private industry in the Commonwealth. The successful candidate will provide executive level leadership, direction, and management to the Division of Marketing and Development’s programs, plans and resources in order to develop and implement effective domestic and international marketing, economic development and promotional programs, as well as advancing food access initiatives, in support of the agency’s mission and strategic plan. Additionally, the Division Director will work in coordination with agency leadership and other state executives and outside organizations on policy and regulatory objectives impacting domestic and international trade of agricultural products and food distribution programs managed by the agency. This position involves considerable overnight travel, both domestic and international.
International Agricultural Intern
Interns will be located in Foreign Agricultural Service overseas offices which are located in U.S. Embassies and Trade Offices in key countries. Interns will carry out tasks in support of the Agricultural Counselor, Agricultural Attache, and/or Agricultural Trade Officer in connection with USDA's agricultural trade policy, analysis, and market development programs.
