Global Events Director

SUSTA has an opening for a full-time Global Events Director. This position is responsible for working closely with SUSTA's State Departments of Agriculture (member states) to manage SUSTA’s international programs and services. Primary duties include (1) Working with SUSTA’s member states to develop, coordinate and execute marketing strategies, (2) Manage SUSTA staff that assist with coordinating SUSTA’s Global events, (3) Interact with USDA, FAS on a regular basis to ensure SUSTA’ activities are designed and executed in compliance within all regulations and interpretations thereof. (4) Identify opportunities to grow exports through Global Events by working closely with SUSTA’s In Country Consultants and members (5) Create educational strategies to continue to identify opportunities for companies in the international markets by providing webinars and training seminars, (6) Travel on occasion to monitor international marketing activities to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies and to ensure activities are appropriately executed, (7) Train new State Department of Agriculture International staff that will manage SUSTA events, (8) Identify and recruit new companies into Global Events and retain existing participants (9) Prepare reports and track performance with Global strategies (10) Keep accurate records for compliance, approve expenses, and manage overall program strategies to support various industries (11) Track and manage SUSTA’s Global events budget and effectively utilize program dollars.

Global Events CoordinatorThis position is responsible for helping to coordinate international marketing events in conjunction with SUSTA’s Member State Department of Agriculture International Marketing staff (Activity Managers). Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to pre, interim, and post conferences with Activity Managers to coordinate the execution of international marketing events (Global Events). Manage documentation and records associated with the Global Events. Consult with Activity Managers on federal regulations and SUSTA’s policies. Responsible for keeping up with international market trends and constraints to help to develop effective marketing strategies. Ongoing customer service and consultations with a host of different partners including SUSTA’s Activity Managers, in country consultants, and companies interested in participating in a Global Event on an ongoing basis. Navigate challenges with Global Events when they arrive. Assist with annual certification and recertification of companies into SUSTA’s Global events. Responsible for building Global Events in SUSTA’s back-office, tracking event outcome, approving expenses tied to Global Events, posting international trade leads and reporting on success.

This position is responsible for promoting SUSTA's programs and services to small southern companies. Primary duties include (1) education and outreach, (2) lead generation (3) maintenance and updates to website, (4) creating various marketing materials for print and web. Travel is required.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on sales and customer service. Experience with graphic design, technical writing and editing, advertising, branding, digital marketing and social media. General knowledge of international marketing, international trade, and of private sector business and marketing practices helpful. Must be well organized, accurate and deadline-driven.
