SIAL China 2022

Dec 7 - 9, 2022
Wednesday-Friday
Shanghai, China
Trade Show - International

In 2020, China was the first major economy in the world and one of the very few countries, which was able to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. With 1.4 billion in population, China is the 2nd-largest consumer market and importer in the world, with over $150 billion worth of agriculture imports globally in 2019. It is also the 3rd-largest importer of U.S. agricultural products in the world, especially for consumer-oriented products. With the Phase One Agreement in effect, certain commodities from the U.S. have also experienced a surge in exports to China, especially proteins such as beef, pork and poultry. Consumer-oriented products have also fared well in the first 8 months of the year, increasing by 85% compared to the same period in 2019. As such, despite the trade and geopolitical uncertainties, U.S. food and drink products have shown to still play an important role in meeting China’s strong demand for high quality, reliable products.

SIAL China is growing to be the most prestigious trade show in China for international food and beverage suppliers. SIAL China has maintained its status as the premium trade exhibition for food and beverage in China and the Asia region. China’s growing middle class is propelling a demand for reliable and quality food products, an area which the U.S. has a strong reputation and continues to be in demand. Many suppliers were able to gain access to China through exhibiting at SIAL, where connections were built and businesses transactions were made to the benefit of first-time participants and experienced exporters alike.
