Why Chile?

Chile is one of the leading economies in South America thanks to its agricultural exports (fresh fish and fruits) and plentiful natural resources (processed cooper and forestry products). Similarly, it is one of the most stable countries in the region and its food business environment is easily navigable. In 2004, the US-Chile Free Trade Agreement came into force but it was not until January, 2015 when tariffs for US exports to Chile were eliminated. During the last five years Chileans have become increasingly receptive to imported food products. This trade mission will take place in Santiago, the most populated city in Chile and its capital city, 40% of the population lives in Santiago. In addition, Santiago holds the largest concentration of supermarkets in the country.

Fee Includes:

• Reimbursement of hotel within the Federal per diem rate for one company representative and on approved dates of the mission;
• Interpreter services as needed;
• In-country transportation to meeting locations;
• Shipping of up to 100lbs by volume of product samples* through SUSTA's designated freight forwarder.

*frozen/chilled shipments to be handled on a case by case basis.
