Agricultural imports from the U.S. to Vietnam have increased over the years, and today Vietnam is its 8th-largest importer in the world. For U.S. wood species products, Vietnam was the sixth-largest importer in 2024, with the country purchasing $350.1 million of products, an increase of 38% from 2023. This growth is expected to continue as the demand for high-quality raw wood species products increases. Vietnam is a net importer of wood species and mostly a “processing” country for the export sector. As a result, Vietnam’s wood species processing sector is highly dependent on imported materials from many sources.
