Perdue Farms Incorporated
About Perdue Farms Incorporated
brand is the #1 brand of fresh chicken in the Eastern United States.
Ranked third in sales in the poultry industry and among the top
12 largest U.S. grain companies, Perdue Farms Incorporated is a leading
international food and agriculture business providing quality products
and services worldwide. PERDUE® is a vertically integrated agribusiness. That means our company
is involved in every step of the supply chain - from eggs and feed
ingredients all the way through processing, distribution and marketing.
This vertical integration enables us to ensure the highest level of quality.
Privately held and family-run for three generations, the company employs more than
22,000 associates and partners with more than 2,400 independent farm families --
all who share in the commitment to quality that has guided the company since its founding
in 1920. The company is headquartered in Salisbury, MD
and was founded by Arthur W. Perdue as a table-egg poultry
farm. Frank Perdue joined his father's company in 1939 as the third
full-time employee. He developed the company into an industry leader
and launched a television and radio advertising campaign, which
made the PERDUE® brand a household name, as well as a market-share
leader. Jim Perdue, Frank's son, became chairman of the board in
1991 and now also serves as advertising spokesperson.
