The Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture’s mission is to establish the agricultural policy to ensure a greater food security for Puerto Rico. Its mission is to develop an advanced agricultural industry in areas such as technology and entrepreneurship that is responsible with the environment and economically sustainable.

The Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture’s International Marketing Division works hand-in-hand with businesses to provide training on entering international markets, create personalized export development plans, organize trade missions, and assist in the attendance of international trade shows. Their goal is to enable agricultural producers, agritourism, and agribusiness industries the opportunity to successfully assess and access new and diverse market opportunities to promote growth in terms of production and revenues.

As a SUSTA Member, Puerto Rico assists companies with entering global markets by participating in trade activities such as trade missions, international trade shows, and brand promotions.
