The 2006-2007 MAP Branded application process will not be conducted online this year, due to ongoing upgrades to SUSTA's online system. SUSTA will accept applications on a first-come first-served basis beginning June 1, 2006. To ensure that you are approved for funding by the start of the fiscal year, return your application by July 30. Once all the funding is allocated, the application process is over until next year.
Before starting your application, please verify that your company is eligible to receive MAP Branded funding, by determining if your company
meets the following requirements:

Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Report
Report showing sales figures & number of employees. To obtain a report, contact D&B at 1-800-333-0505 or www.dnb.com.
Company Profile
Brochure or website about your company and the brand names/products.
North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Codes
Indicates your company's industry, the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes were previously required. Utilizing the NAICS, SUSTA can determine if your company meets the SBA definition of a small business. Codes are available on pages 2 and 3 of the Branded Eligibility document.
Brand Names/Products
List of brand names/products to be promoted.
Commodity Aggregate Codes
Indicate the types of products you will promote. View the codes.
Schedule B/Harmonized Codes
10-digit identification code assigned to every product that is exported.

Marketing Plan for 2006-2007 (January 1, 2007-December 31, 2007)
-Determine your budget, the total branded allocation request and amount of money you plan to spend per country.
-Determine your overall plan for each country and obtain details for each promotional activity you plan to conduct. (Trade shows with dates, in-store demonstrations with dates, advertisements with dates, and freight charges)
-Obtain your sales figures for each country for 2005 and projected figures for 2006 and 2007. Also obtain your export sales for the same periods.
Package/Label Changes
This is eligible only if you must change your package/label to meet foreign government regulations. If you plan to seek reimbursement for this activity, you must submit:
-The foreign government regulations (English translation required if in another language). Not sure if you are required to change product packaging? See USDA's Food & Agriculture Import Regulations & Standards (FAIRS).
-The domestic package/label with the U.S. origin identified ("Made in USA", "Product of U.S.", "Made in Louisiana" (state spelled out in its entirety).
Application Fee
$200.00 non-refundable application fee.
