Southern Africa has long been the king pin of Africa’s regions. Although relatively it has given way to other regions in terms of growth, it remains the most diversified region with the highest per capita income. While South Africa is the largest economy in Africa, other smaller countries such as Botswana and Mauritius have higher standards of living and present unique opportunities. Most of the region speaks English and the use of common law allows for Americans to easily understand contract law in the region.
